Lady Rose Nsa Bassey, is the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education. She holds a B.A (Hon) English & Literary Studies from the University of Calabar (1988) and an M.A (English) from the University of Uyo (2002). She is from Oron L.G.A.

Lady Bassey was appointed into the Teaching Service in 1991 and transferred her Service to the mainstream Civil Service as a Senior Administrative Officer in 2000. She was appointed Permanent Secretary in January, 2017 and served in the State Secondary Education Board and Civil Service Commission before her deployment to the Ministry of Education.

As a Permanent Secretary, she has received many awards including the ‘Outstanding Civil Service Performance Merit Award’ (2018) from the House of Representatives Committee on Governmental Affairs, Abuja and ‘Excellence in leadership & Productivity Award’ (2020) from the National Productivity Centre, Abuja.

She is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPMN), Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) and a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Administration (ICA).

Lady Bassey is a devote Christian and Lady of Knight who loves reading, cooking and baking. She is married with children and grandchildren
